  • <p>Shown here is the 1931 class of the Lowell School, a junior high school at the corner of Centre and Mozart Streets in Jamaica Plain.  This photograph was provided by Frank V. DeMont whose father, Frank M. DeMont is shown in the first row, sixth from the left.  Frank M. DeMont was born in 1916 in Windsor, Nova Scotia and is approximately 15 years-old in this photo. DeMont emigrated to Jamaica Plain in 1923 at the age of 7. The DeMont family lived at 33 Sunnyside Ave.  He attended and graduated from the Mary Curly School on Centre Street, went to the Lowell School, and then graduated from high school while living on Sunnyside Ave. In 1940 DeMont, along with his family including aunts and uncles moved to a farm in Hanson. Paul Rudd, standing in the far left of the second row appeared in the 1978 feature film, <em>The Betsy</em>, and is now drama professor at The New School in New York City.   • <p>Mr. Paul B. Gill, the 46-year-old electrical shop teacher at the Mary E. Curley school, is flanked by members of his 1947 class. This was apparently a post-war adult education class that included returning servicemen as one student, Robert Livingston is noted on the back of the photograph as being a “photographer and pilot”. Other students shown are Joseph Lawton, Edmund Carlow, Joseph George, Walter Lyons, Albert di Giacomo, Russell Johanson, Eugene Doherty, Donald Strassel, William Johnson, Frank Kelley, Henry Corcoran, and John Bolanes.
