Shown here is the 1931 class of the Lowell School, a junior high school at the corner of Centre and Mozart Streets in Jamaica Plain.  This photograph was provided by Frank V. DeMont whose father, Frank M. DeMont is shown in the first row, sixth from the left.  Frank M. DeMont was born in 1916 in Windsor, Nova Scotia and is approximately 15 years-old in this photo. DeMont emigrated to Jamaica Plain in 1923 at the age of 7. The DeMont family lived at 33 Sunnyside Ave.  He attended and graduated from the Mary Curly School on Centre Street, went to the Lowell School, and then graduated from high school while living on Sunnyside Ave. In 1940 DeMont, along with his family including aunts and uncles moved to a farm in Hanson.
