A lone trolley passes the Burroughs Building on its way down Centre Street towards the Arborway in this 1960 photo. Established businesses at the time were Rogers Drug Store, Frank’s DoubleWare Clothing, Barry’s Deli, Blanchard Liquors, and Galway House Restaurant. Hanlons Shoes was one flight up an enormous stairway to the second level of the Burroughs Building where a customer would be fitted for the shoes of their choice.
