Jonathan Ingersoll Bowditch (1806-1889), second son of Nathaniel Bowditch, writer of the famous book on navigation. Jonathan Ingersoll Bowditch moved from Canton to Jamaica Plain about 1859 and purchased most of the land known as Moss Hill. Courtesty of George Wardle, Historian, First Church Jamaica Plain.
